These knitted baby booties are super easy and quick to knit and... They look adorable!
If you are a beginner knitter this is the perfect project for you, as you only need to know how to knit and purl. Instructions for size new born are written below.

Size: New born
Yarn: 25 gr of white super fine baby yarn.
Needles: Size 2 ½mm (1.5 US).
- Satin Ribbon 1 m long, 0.5 cm wide.
- Two knitted cords 30 cm long each, and 4 pom poms.
Gauge: Using size 2 ½ mm needles and working in Ribbing 1x1 stitch 28 sts and 26 rows = 5x5 cm square.
Explanation of Stitches
1x1 Ribbing stitch
Row 1 (and all right-side rows): (Knit 1 st, purl 1 st)*
Row 2 (and wrong-side rows): Work stitches as they present themselves.

Fisherman's Rib stitch
Same as 1x1 Ribbing stitch but the knit stitches are knitted one below the actual stitch. (See in illustrations on page 3.)
(Yarn over, knit 2 stitches together)* [repeat stitches inside ()*]
Sole: 7 cm
Instep: 4 cm
Height: 5 cm
Start by knitting at the ankle area of the bootie. With baby yarn and 2½ mm needles, cast on 42 stitches and work 38 rows in Ribbing 1x1 stitch.
OPTIONAL: If you want to add a lace ribbon or knitted cord to the bootie work the row next to last (row 37) in Eyelet stitch.
Change to Fisherman’s rib stitch and work 36 rows.
Bind off all stitches.
Sew seam at back of bootie and down the sole. If you worked in the Eyelet row, run the ribbon or cord through the holes.
Work second bootie in the same way.
